Learning Outcome #1

The recursive process is a creative way to write a paper. When a writer uses the recursive process, they start by writing a rough draft or incomplete parts of a paper. Once they do that they stop writing and go back later. When they return to their paper that is when they make changes and work on improving the paper. This process is extremely repetitive and it continues until the writer feels as though the paper is complete. Recursive writing is helpful because it gives a writer the opportunity to see the mistakes they may have missed the first time the read the essay. I appreciate the recursive writing process because I struggle with using grammar correctly. When I read my papers out loud I can hear any grammar mistakes that I made. My professor was also a part of my recursive writing process. She would point out the parts of my paper that did not flow correctly or that needed stronger arguments.

I recently finished my last essay assignment for this class. It included multiple peer and self review sessions. Below is one of my more complete drafts of the paper that was edited right before I handed in my complete draft (the pdf.). I frequently went back to my essay and changed little parts of it such as the introduction that originally did not include the person that I interviewed for the paper. The recursive writing process allowed me to change the flow of the paper so that it was more pleasant to read.
